The discussion began with a call for field guides to plants and herps for the Alamos region. Several large themes grew from this point. A need for basic documentation of biodiversity presents an opportunity to engage students and local non-science experts, especially indigenous groups.

The distribution and patterns of several non-geologic processes are well documented within the Gulf of California and surrounding Sonoran Desert. Many of these processes are strongly controlled by the local or regional geology, but this relationship is not always examined.

“Corredores Biológicos”: Esquemas legales de conservación de Tierras
La sesión se enfocó a compartir la información más que a la discusión de la existencia del corredor. La mayoría de los participantes no conocían mucho del tema, sin embargo estaban muy interesados en conocer los esquemas posibles de conservación de tierra que pudiera protegerse de la minería y del cambio del uso del suelo.
Código de ética: trabajar en/con Comunidades
La sesión trató el tema de la relación entre comunidades e investigadores para generar acuerdos que permitan una mejor interacción, una reflexión sobre la manera en la que se da la interacción, el papel de investigadores frente a las comunidades y las consecuencias que la presencia de investigadores tiene sobre la vida de las comunidades.
