[title size=”2″]The 2015 N-Gen Summit[/title]
Guaymas, Sonora | Hotel Playa de Cortés – 27–29 October 2015
One of the most effective ways to connect those whose passion is the Sonoran Desert is in person. N-Gen regional Summits are a place where conversations, ideas, and discoveries, that otherwise may have never happened, are born. These three-days provide the space for an exchange of information, skills, and experiences between established scientists and those just beginning their careers. These opportunities to share, dream, and combine knowledge will lead to the significant science and conservation accomplishments of the future.
Unite the Sonoran Desert Research Community to connect knowledge and passion
We will gather the Sonoran Desert community at the Hotel Playa de Cortés in Guaymas, Sonora, 27–29 October 2015. The gathering will be held over three days and use an (un)conference format that encourages spontaneous discourse (just as we did for the 2012 Summit).
The (un)conference approach is a meeting environment that encourages spontaneous discourse and all-inclusive interaction that is driven by the workshop attendees themselves. Instead of having a series of presentations over the course of multiple days, this format takes advantage of the best part of a meeting – the connections that are made between participants – and enables the entirety of the meeting to be focused on the interests of the event’s participants. At the beginning of the workshop, the agenda is created by and decided upon by those present. All attendees are required to actively participate throughout the workshop to solve problems, develop collaborative projects, address the pressing challenges in the region, create ideas for collaborative grant proposals, and a myriad of additional potential themes.
