Where to go

The borderlands are a vast and diverse region! We define border communities as all counties or municipalities in the U.S. or Mexico adjacent to the international boundary. This includes everything from expansive wilderness to urban backyards. If you live in a border community, you can find and document nature right in your yard or neighborhood!

Please ensure that you have any required permissions, permits or licenses before going into the field. Please consider safety and logistics when choosing a site to go to the field.

Border BioBlitz partner organizations can provide local orientation on safe and accessible locations in some regions.

You can participate, too! Simply create your checklist in your own account and then share it with the “BorderBioBlitz” account when you submit. That’s all!

You can see the observations shared during the Border BioBlitz by looking at our eBird profile.
