The 2021 Border BioBlitz is a community science effort to record as many species as possible along the U.S.-Mexico border during the month of April. Join members of the project as they share updates and discuss the importance of binational collaboration to documenting, protecting and preserving this one-of-a-kind location. You’ll also learn how you can help with this important effort—it’s as easy as using a smartphone or desktop computer! Before the talk, be sure to download the iNaturalist app (free for Android and iOS) and to join our project. eBird users are also welcome to participate.

Join Nat Curator of Botany and National Geographic Explorer Dr. Jon Rebman for a night of perfecting your iNaturalist plant observations. Jon will be sharing tips and tricks for how to make high quality plant observations valuable to science! This training is geared towards participants that have past experience with iNaturalist, are interested in learning more about the plants and botanical diversity in San Diego County, as well as identification resources, such as sdplantatlas.org  

Registrants will receive free digital resources to help hone plant observation and identification skills. If you need help with the basics of using the iNaturalist app or website, please review the tutorials provided here prior to attending this program.
