[vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”46px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text el_class=”orange_text”]To do our part to slow the spread of COVID-19 in the border region, we have decided to postpone the 2020 Border BioBlitz event until further notice. This includes all nodes in the Mexico and the US.
In the meantime, the Border BioBlitz Independents iNaturalist project is still active and individuals are welcome to make observations on their own and identify observations remotely. Find more information on how to identify observations here. Please follow the recommendations of the CDC and health care experts to protect yourself and vulnerable members of society.
Our best to everyone in this challenging time.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”46px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_gmaps link=”#E-8_JTNDaWZyYW1lJTIwc3JjJTNEJTIyaHR0cHMlM0ElMkYlMkZ3d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbSUyRm1hcHMlMkZkJTJGZW1iZWQlM0ZtaWQlM0QxbnZhSWR3MkVGRFFqVHVpV1BpNHhHYndZbU5nYjhZWXMlMjIlMjB3aWR0aCUzRCUyMjY0MCUyMiUyMGhlaWdodCUzRCUyMjQ4MCUyMiUzRSUzQyUyRmlmcmFtZSUzRQ==”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

PLACE
We will visit ranches in the Área Destinada Voluntariamente a la Conservación Cuenca Los Ojos, Rancho San Bernardino (campamento base), Rancho El Nogalito y Rancho El Valle. This is currently a construction site for the border wall, almost 10m high, which will be the primary biogeographic barrier for biodiversity in the region, impeding north-south migration and vice-versa for widely distributed species like the black bear, mexican wolf, and the occasional jaguar.
