I’m Alberto García, the Director of Whale Shark Mexico, a research project under the non-profit organization Conexiones Terramar AC. For more than 20 years, Whale Shark Mexico has been studying whale sharks in Mexico, particularly in the Gulf of California in coastal aggregation sites such as Bahía de La Paz, Bahía de Los Ángeles, and Nayarit. Mi work consists on managing fieldwork logistics, collecting data on whale sharks, report writing, funding proposals, meeting local stakeholders and environmental authorities, writing scientific literature, and conducting outreach, and educational activities in Bahía de La Paz and Bahía de Los Ángeles.
