About

I am a botanist with the US National Park Service’s Sonoran Desert Network. I have been a farmer, a strawbale-homebuilder, and contract botanist (2002-2008) and have been based in Tucson since 2005. I am a doctoral student at the University of Arizona where I am studying the floristic biogeography of the Sonoran and Chihuahuan Desert Networks, regional species area relationships, and the environmental history of botany. My dissertation research is the Flora of the Sonoran Desert Network, an effort to develop park-specific and network-wide field guides for the national park units of the Sonoran Desert Network.[title size=”2″]Where I Work[/title][map address=”Ensenada, Mexico|Cabo San Lucas, Mexico” type=”terrain” width=”100%” height=”260px” zoom=”4″ scrollwheel=”yes” scale=”yes” zoom_pancontrol=”yes”][/map]
