| About | Samantha Schwann is an underwater visual storyteller and explorer curious at the intersection between art, exploration, technology and conservation. Her work has focused in the Gulf of California work since 2019, documenting pelagic sharks; and low-light biodiversity within a 70-300m depth range. Her work in the Gulf of California has received recognition via international awards and exhibits, including Museo de Arte de Sonora (Hermosillo, Son.) and Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum (Tucson, AZ); publication in Oceanographic Magazine, NatGeo YourShot, Gestalten Magazine; and featured in Discovery Channel’s Shark Week. Schwann incorporates the use of various technology in her work, including ROV’s and aerial drones, 360 cameras, and underwater acoustics. |
