I am involved in a program in Mexico through San Diego Zoo Global (SDZG), called Ridge to Reef, an initiative uniting Community-Based Conservation components of SDZG projects in Baja California & Sonora, including the Sonoran pronghorn, the peninsular bighorn sheep, the California condor, and the vaquita porpoise. Through partnerships with NGOs, schools, local communities, and governments, we are interested in understanding the impacts of conservation, facilitating effective environmental education, and building capacity through training, alternative livelihoods, and networking among the many entities involved in conservation in NW Mexico.
