Researchers

Over the past 30 plus years I have painted in watercolor many, many buildings which are or used to be Chinese markets established in early Tucson. I became fascinated about the families whop migrated here from China and built up gardens and ultimately markets to sell their produce. I did research at the Arizona Historical Society and I continue to be interested in meeting more of the descendants of the Chine who have been a strong part of the culture of Tucson.I was a bilingual teacher in T.U.S.D. for 22 years (retired from there) and in Nogales. I was also in the Peace Corps (remember that institution?) in the Philippines for two years. I continue to paint in the fine arts and esp. watercolor and acrylics paint. Richard Johnsen
