Researchers

My area of focus in the Sonoran Desert is better understanding the biodiversity of flora of the dunes, desert, and arroyos. Additionally, I aim to study the adaptations, interactions, and dynamics of these plants within these ecosystems. I am starting first by identifying and documenting the flora for conservation reasons and finding ways to inspire care and stewardship from local and international communities.
Furthermore, in order to engage the community I hope to take a science and art nexus approach working to create a deeper connection with nature.
Finally, down the line a goal is to expand this research to see if there are certain adaptations or plants that may be able to indicate solutions for adapting local food systems to meet food security needs.
