About

I am a medical anthropologist currently serving as assistant research professor in the College of Public Health at the University of Arizona. My research spans many areas relating to the health and healing contexts of Mexicans living in the Sonoran Desert border region. including traditional medicinal practices, ties to land and nature, migration related stressors, and community level sources of resilience. I am passionate about increasing access to natural spaces for all residents of our beautiful region and promoting research relating to the healing benefits of nature engagement.
