I will study microbial diversity of a hydrothermal system whose chemical conditions conducive to the existence of a bacterial metabolism able to use arsenic as an energy source by oxidizing or reducing it , so our interest is to use the enzymes responsible for oxidation to treat contaminated water arsenite . Also we studied yeasts and fungi can grow in the presence of high concentrations of arsenic.Finally we would like to develop a white biotechnology to clean up contaminated aquifers of the town of La Paz, BCS. Propuesta: I interest in the use of enzymes responsibe for oxidation to treat contamined water arsenite, so I will study microbial diversity of a hydrothermal system whose chemical conditions conducive to the existence of a bacterial metabolism able to use arsenic as an energy source by oxidizing or reducing it.
