| About | I grew up in Nacozari de Garcia, a mining town located northeastern Sonora, and I professionally develop myself in the Sky Islands Region. In first instance, I spend almost 5 years monitoring mexican spotted owls in the Sonoran Sierra, and after that, worked 19 years at the “Area de Proteccion de Flora y Fauna Bavispe” (Formerly known as “Ajos Bavispe Preserve”). I carried out actions for natural resources management and conservation, including: restoration, reforestation, fire management, flora and fauna inventories. I also collaborate with monitoring, management and conservation of priority and charismatic species of the region such as: Golden eagle, Mexican spotted owl, Mexican gray wolf, black bear, jaguar, beaver and prairie dog. Currently I work with PROFAUNA, A.C. monitoring eagles in northeastern Sonora, and Beaver in the Upper Bavispe watershed. Very soon I will be monitoring other important species. I consider myself a naturalist promoting conservation in Sky Island Region |
