Researchers

I am currently a junior year undergraduate in the University of Wyoming’s Plant Sciences Department and working with and taking classes from Dr. Valtcho Jeliazkov in Medicinal herbs and spices. My interests are in the ecology of arid regions. I hope to study water use efficiency in native plants in extreme environments at the University of Arizona as a grad student. Projects I am currently assisting with here in Wyoming are developing of transgenic varieties of grapes with drought,salt, and cold tolerances and the evaluation of the chemical profiles of mints and medicinal grasses produced under various irrigation methods. I am hoping to keep abreast of the research being done in desert environments.
