I am a cultural anthropologist and ethnobiologist. Currently, I am pursuing my Ph.D. in Anthropology at Universidad Iberoamericana (IBERO), where my research focuses on Kumiai ethnobiological knowledge in northern Baja California, exploring ethnobiological calendars, ecological baselines, and community responses to climate change. Previously, I worked as a field technician at Comunidad y Biodiversidad (COBI), collaborating on a project examining risk perception and transformations within fishing cooperatives along Baja California’s Pacific coast. I hold a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology from UDLAP and an M.A. in Human Geography from El Colegio de Michoacán. My specialization in ethnobiology stems from years of collaborative work with Kumiai communities, addressing territorial dynamics and resource overexploitation (such as Salvia apiana) through ethnography and political ecology. I was awarded the 2026 Barbara Lawrence Award by the Society of Ethnobiology, and I currently serve as the Education Representative (Vocal de Educación) on the board of the Asociación Etnobiológica Mexicana (AEM).
