About

I am a cultural anthropologist and ethnobiologist. Currently, I work as a field technician at Comunidad y Biodiversidad (COBI), where we collaborate with national and international institutions on a project focused on risk perception and changes within fishing cooperatives along the Pacific coast of Baja California. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Cultural Anthropology from UDLAP and a Master’s degree in Human Geography from the Colegio de Michoacán, specializing in ethnobiology. My specialization in ethnobiology developed while working with Kumiai native communities in northern Baja California, addressing issues related to resource overexploitation (such as Salvia apiana) and territorial loss using ethnography and political ecology as fundamental tools. Additionally, I currently serve as a student representative on the board of the Asociación Etnobiológica Mexicana.
