About

I am a naturalist interested in gaining a holistic understanding of the natural world and its myraid connections to the socio-political and economic underpinnings of daily life. My interests are in describing and documenting bird breeding biology, larval stages of butterflies and moths, floristics, and preserving cultural knowledge of biodiversity. I am currently a Ph.D. student in Systematic Botany at UC Berkeley, where I work with Bruce Baldwin in the Uc and Jepson herbaria to study the family Compositae. The focus of my current research is on the systematics, biogeography, and conservation of the rock daisies (genera Perityle and Amauria) in the Southwest U.S. and Northern Mexico.
