Eduardo is responsible for coordinating projects to help enhance CSU’s impact in Mexico by fostering strategic partnerships with higher education institutions, facilitating capacity building, organizing academic activities, and securing grants. With twenty years of experience in nature conservation and research, Eduardo has worked across academia, government, and non-governmental organizations in Mexico and internationally. He has made significant contributions to the conservation and research of various ecosystems and wildlife, including amphibians, deer, coral reefs, mangroves, marine mammals, sea turtles, and the deep-sea. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from UNAM’s Science Faculty, a Ph.D. in Conservation Ecology from Auckland University of Technology in New Zealand, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Vertebrate Biology and Conservation at INECOL in Xalapa. Eduardo led projects related to coral reef monitoring and restoration for CONANP in Cancun. Moreover, he served as the General Director for Wildcoast in Mexico, spearheading award-winning conservation projects and expanding initiatives to Cuba. Additionally, he held the position of Marine Landscapes Coordinator for the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), where he led the marine program for the WWF-Telmex Telcel Foundation Alliance.
