About

Transdisciplinary Biologist specializing in human-microbial interactions, integrating insights from microbiology, ecology, and the evolutionary dynamics of yeast communities. My research bridges natural and social sciences, proposing ‘ethnomicrobiology’ as a novel approach to understanding the cultural and ecological significance of microbial communities. I have a proven track record of interdisciplinary research that explores how microbial processes are embedded in cultural practices, with a particular focus on fermentation, biocultural heritage, and microbial biodiversity. My work seeks to highlight human microbial selection and domestications with different methodological approaches such as genomics and ethnographic studies
