About

I hold a PhD in Science with a focus on the Use, Management, and Conservation of Natural Resources from the Northwest Biological Research Centre (CIBNOR). I earned a Master’s degree in Marine and Coastal Sciences from the Autonomous University of Baja California Sur (UABCS), where I also graduated with a degree in Marine Biology.
I have ten years of experience working on projects related to nutrition, physiology, lipid metabolism, and the use of alternative food ingredients in aquaculture, which led to a patent. My background also includes research, science communication, and community engagement.
Currently, I collaborate as a postdoctoral researcher with SECIHTI, affiliated with CIBNOR, contributing to food security initiatives that aim to improve public health through aquaponic technologies in urban and arid communities in Mexico. This work integrates fish and plant production with nutrition, combining technology, education, and community health.
I’ve developed inclusive science outreach materials such as workshops, informational capsules for radio and television, and digital content, promoting universal access to knowledge. I’ve also contributed to institutional evaluation projects, technical consulting, and the strengthening of scientific and humanistic vocations.
As a researcher, my goal is to contribute to social well-being through the responsible use of natural resources, linking science, technology, and education in sustainable, culturally relevant solutions with meaningful community impact.
