About

Until the campus closed, I was an Associate Professor at ITESM Campus Guaymas in the graduate school of Marine Biology. Our research was primarily in the Northern Sea of Cortez. I am now doing various conservation projects in association with former colleagues and students. I also run an environmental education program for local youth. In addition, I operate a blog that focuses on the importance of connections in Nature and the application of complex systems science to the practice of ecology. The credo for this work is:Everything, including ourselves, is connected to everything else.Conservation is the act of identifying and preserving these interconnections.Hope for mankind comes from instilling a deep connectivity consciousness in our youth.
