I’m an earth scientist who specializes in geomorphology, soils, and geoarchaeology. I have worked in the Sonoran Desert since the mid-1980s and have a strong interest in studying human adaptations to desert environments. I am currently an independent consultant who collaborates with archaeologists in better understanding past environmental changes, site formation processes, and ancient water management including canal systems and reservoirs. I am currently collaborating with archaeologists, biologists, and geochemists in dating and interpreting shell midden sites along the upper Gulf of California.
