About | I am a geoarchaeologist who has run an x-ray fluorescence spectrometry laboratory of over 30 years, mainly providing analyses of archaeological stone, particularly obsidian, including 23 years at UC, Berkeley as faculty and laboratory director. Much of this work involves archaeological contexts in Baja California, Baja California Sur, Sonora, and Chihuahua. I have a working relationship with INAH in northern Baja California.I have received over 1/2 million dollars in National Science Foundation funding, including 10 years directing a NSF sponsored XRF laboratory. Most of the obsidian provenance work in northwest Mexico has been done through my lab. |
