About

I am the Research Director at the Southern Sierra Research Station, located in foothills of the Sierra Nevada, California. I specialize in riparian birds, endangered species, cowbird ecology and wintering bird ecology. However, I have a degree in Wildlife biology, experience (and interest) with other taxa and still like to occasionally capture frogs and lizards. I work on a long-term breeding ecology study of the Southwestern Willow Flycatcher on the South Fork Kern River in California and have expanded my research to their wintering areas in Mexico, Central America and South America. One of the Southern Sierra Research Station’s main projects is working with the Western Yellow-billed Cuckoo in the Sonoran Desert Region.
