About | I’m an attorney at Protect Democracy, a non-partisan advocacy group that works to defend and strengthen democratic norms and institutions. My full bio is pasted below. Among other things, we are seeking to learn more about the role of border militias in the borderlands, because we are concerned about the surge in armed militia groups creating a dangerous situation for people along the border, including migrants, researchers, humanitarian workers, and others.***Larry SchwartztolCounselBefore joining Protect Democracy, Larry was Executive Director of the Criminal Justice Policy Program at Harvard Law School, a research and advocacy center focused on criminal justice reform. Larry spent nearly eight years as an attorney with the ACLU, where he litigated cases involving race discrimination, economic justice, police practices, educational equity, and a wide array of national security issues. Before that, Larry was a Liman Fellow at the Brennan Center for Justice and a law clerk to Judge Harry T. Edwards U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. |
