About

A marine conservation scientist, Heather Leslie conducts research on the ecology, policy, and management of coastal marine ecosystems. She is interested in understanding the drivers of ecological and social processes in marine systems, and how to more effectively integrate science into environmental policy and management. She leads an interdisciplinary, international research program focused on ecological and human dimensions of the small-scale fisheries of the Gulf of California. This work is particularly focused on the fish, fisheries and communities of Baja California Sur.
