About

I am from Uruguay but I have been living in La Paz (BCS) for the last 13 years. I obtained my MSC degree in Chile, University of Concepción, and I came here for my PhD at the CIBNOR. My thesis explores the population dynamics and vertical behavior of humboldt squid (Dosidicus gigas) in the Gulf of California and the Pacific Ocean. Besides, I like to explore the relationships between marine species and environmental variability, including the effects of climate change over fisheries resources. My background includes the study of population dynamics of marine species (size structure, growth, sex ratio, reproduction, etc.). Most of my published work is related to cephalopods biology & fisheries, specially with the Humboldt squid Dosidicus gigas and also with other squid species. My current job is at the Fisheries Ecology Program at the CIBNOR.
