About

I completed my undergraduate degree in Marine Biologist from UABCS and received a Master’s degree in 2006 in biodiversity and conservation from Scripps Institution of Oceanography. My work has focused in the Upper Gulf of California in conservation and resource management initiatives that involve a variety of stakeholders and disciplines. Currently I am a Scholar in Residence at UC MEXUS describing and analyzing efforts involving local communities, scientists and conservationists working together towards conserving the vaquita marina and managing regional fisheries through networks of collaborative work. I am particularly interested in analyzing the impact of resource user participation in research and conservation/management initiatives.
