About | I am a graduate student and biologist at the University of Arizona in the School of Natural Resources and the Environment. My research examines potential behavioral and physiological responses of a recently released population of desert bighorn sheep (Ovis canadensis mexicana) to human recreation and urban development in the Pusch Ridge Wilderness area north of Tucson. My specific research interests include behavioral and movement ecology as they relate to human wildlife interactions and predator- prey dynamics. On a broad scale I am interested in fostering a regional appreciation of the Sonoran Desert ecosystem through science education and outreach and the facilitation of conservation partnerships between the biological community and regional stakeholders. Past research involvement includes studies of endangered Sonoran pronghorn (Antilocapara americana sonoriensis), various wild felid research projects, invasive species monitoring and bulk vegetative index studies of southern Arizona. |
