I am an undergraduate in the Fisheries and Wildlife Sciences program at Oregon State University. My primary interest is in the ecology of native fishes and aquatic systems in North American Deserts. I assist in the monitoring and conservation of several populations of native fishes in northern Mexico, including Yaqui catfish (Ictalurus pricei) and Yaqui chub (Gila purpurea). As part of these efforts, and the monitoring of several remote spring locations in southern Arizona, I have recently been working on the development of low-cost equipment for the monitoring of fish populations and environmental parameters.
