About

I am an historian specializing in Sonora and Arizona. I studied at UNAM Actuarial Calculus, then Civil Engineering at the Universidad de Sonora where I also took courses on Geology, and finally at the U of AZ I studied Southwest History under Dr. Kieran McCarty. Following my training, I tend to understand numerically the changes this region has gone through, both in it’s culture as well as it’s nature. I was named in 2000 the Official City Historian (Cronista) of Nogales, Sonora. I write  a weekly column in the Nogales section of the Sonoran Newspaper, El Imparcial, and I keep a personal website as well as several blogs devoted to the diffusion and understanding of everything I can think of related to Nogales.
