The Border BioBlitz is a decentralized outdoor event.

We urge all participants to carefully follow public health guidelines provided by the WHO and local governments. We want community scientists all along the border to have the opportunity to participate, while still keeping themselves and their communities safe. Please stay informed about any possible changes in the overall event and to conditions in your community and region.

Also consider documenting wildlife from the safety of their home or yard and by identifying species!

We know the borderlands are a diverse and complex region. 

In some areas, our borderlands are expansive, and in others they are reduced to a narrow strip through urban areas.

In 2024, we are focused on observations of plant and animal life found within 15 kilometers (about 10 miles) north or south of the U.S.-Mexico border.
