Region Wide Summits
One of the best ways to connect those of us committed to the understanding and conservation of the Sonoran Desert is in person. Once every three years N-Gen holds a region wide Summit. The first was held in Tucson, Arizona April 18–20 2012, and the next will be held in Guaymas, Sonora October 2015.
See the Summit 2012 page to learn about the cross-discipline sessions and incredible energy and inspiration that were shared over these three days.
Check the Summit 2015 page for information as the date draws closer.
Summit 2015
The next region-wide Summit will be held in Guaymas, Sonora in October 2015. We will announce more information as it becomes available. But for now, plan to join your colleagues in Guaymas during the fall of 2015! Learn More »
Summit 2012
The 2012 inaugural Summit was held at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum in Tucson, Arizona from April 18 to 20. Ninety individuals attended the three-day gathering, 49 participants from Mexico and 41 from the United States. Sixteen distinct disciplines were represented as well as 37 different institutions, 11 from Mexico and 26 from the United States. An (un)conference or Open Space approach was used, which encourages spontaneous discourse and all-inclusive interaction driven by the participants themselves that was found to be far superior to a standard linear conference format.
