The journey to Álamos is a part of the experience!

Here is some well researched guidance on how to plan your travel:

From Ciudad Obregon Airport to Álamos:

Airport taxis and vans are available outside to the terminal. The taxi company is called CABUS.
Taxi 1-4 people $1830 pesos
Van up to 8 people $2380 pesos
Although there are always taxis and vans there, they recommend calling a few hours before the flight arrival to reserve one of the vehicles. To do so, call Silvia Castro +644.134.0030

Bus to Alamos:
Take taxi to downtown C. Obregon bus terminal
Tufesa or TBC/Albatross bus to Alamos (may have to change buses in Navojoa)
Cost: ca. $200 pesos

If you want to pre-arrange transportation from C. Obregon to Alamos, you can call one of these Alamos-based transportation services. It is recommended that you do so at least 2 or 3 days in advance.

From Álamos to Ciudad Obregon Airport :

The same Alamos based transportation services can be pre-arranged for return transportation to the C. Obregon airport. The cost is the same as above.

From Baja California:

If you are traveling from Baja California (Norte) your best option is to fly from the Tijuana airport (TIJ) to Ciudad Obregón (CEN), an hour and a half direct flight (Volaris airline).

If you are traveling from Baja California Sur your options are to fly Aero Calafia from La Paz or Cabo San Lucas to Ciudad Obregon. Their website will be updated with the schedule for 2024 in mid-November.

Transportation from Obregón airport to Álamos is an hour and fifteen minute shuttle. For the N-Gen Summit we will help organize the airport shuttles to Alamos. Email us at nextgensd2012@gmail.com for more information.

From Further South in Mexico:

Fly from your largest regional airport to Ciudad Obregón (CEN).

Transportation from Ciudad Obregón to Álamos is about a hour and fifteen minute shuttle. For the N-Gen Summit we will help organize the airport shuttles to Alamos. Email us at nextgensd2012@gmail.com for more information.

From Tucson or Phoenix, AZ:

N-Gen is offering a charterer wifi equipped bus with 53 spaces that will depart Nogales, Sonora at 9am the morning of Tuesday April 23rd and then leave Álamos the morning of Sunday April 28th returning to Nogales that evening. You can reserve a space on this chartered shuttle by purchasing a $75 ticket as an add on in your event registration (via Eventbrite).

We will meet as a group in Nogales, AZ on April 23rd just in front of the turn gates to go into Mexico at 8:30 AM and then walk across the border together as a group, walking into Mexico via the Dennis DeConcini pedestrian Port of Entry, where we will rendezvous with our chartered bus and travel together to Álamos.

To get to the bus in Nogales, Sonora you can:

(A) DRIVE YOURSELF AND PARK IN A SECURE BORDER PARKING LOT (ca. $7 per day), MEETING THE GROUP AT 830 AM

(B) TAKE A SHUTTLE FROM TUCSON TO NOGALES VIA

Arrive at 6/6:30 am to get on first shuttle to Nogales which departs around 7:00 am
1 hour drive to Nogales
$15 usd per person
Can reserve in advance, though is not necessary. 
These two shuttle places are adjacent to each other.
Best to arrive via Uber/Lyft and not leave your car at the shuttle services.

You can also drive down the 15, which takes approximately 8 hours. Carpooling and driving only during the day is encouraged. Note: you will need to get a tourist visa at KM 21 and a car permit in Empalme.

From the West coast USA:

Fly into San Diego, take 30 minute taxi ride to Crossborder Xpress (CBX), a border crossing directly into the Tijuana airport (TIJ). An hour and a half direct flight (Volaris airline) gets you to Ciudad Obregón (CEN).

The CBX bridge border crossing has a fee that you can purchase as an add-on when you are purchasing your Volaris airline ticket.

Drive down the 15. The drive takes approximately 8 hours. We can provide a drive log that talks you through the driving experience.

From the East coast USA:

Besides flying to San Diego as described above and the Phoenix to Hermosillo flight, when you look to fly into Ciudad Obregón from anywhere in the US, the flights usually have layovers in
Guadalajara (GDL) or Mexico City (MEX).
