La ciencia se ha practicado durante milenios,\u00a0 normalmente descartada estrat\u00e9gicamente como pr\u00e1cticas culturales, tradiciones agr\u00edcolas, medicinas alternativas o alquimia. La idea de que la ciencia solo ocurre en estudios controlados, que es un ap\u00e9ndice inseparable del mundo acad\u00e9mico y que solo es v\u00e1lida si es respaldada por institutos de investigaci\u00f3n o publicada en una revista cient\u00edfica, tiene sus ra\u00edces en un concepto colonial.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hoy en d\u00eda, la ciencia es, aunque de forma bastante lenta, cada vez m\u00e1s accesible para todxs, que es precisamente de lo que se trata la ciencia comunitaria. La ciencia comunitaria nos muestra que cualquier persona, independientemente de su formaci\u00f3n acad\u00e9mica o cient\u00edfica, puede contribuir a la investigaci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Para N-Gen, el <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/nextgensd.com\/es\/bioblitzes-de-la-frontera\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BioBlitz de la Frontera<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> encarna este enfoque. Nacido de la necesidad de documentar la biodiversidad fronteriza para reforzar la oposici\u00f3n a la construcci\u00f3n del muro en 2017, el BioBlitz de la Frontera ha recopilado ocho a\u00f1os de observaciones de plantas y vida silvestre a lo largo de la frontera entre M\u00e9xico y Estados Unidos.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cada primavera, individuos y organizaciones comunitarias organizan nodos (o eventos) p\u00fablicos ubicados a 15 km al norte o sur de la frontera M\u00e9xico-Estados Unidos, abiertos a la participaci\u00f3n de todo el mundo. Lo \u00fanico que se necesita para participar es un tel\u00e9fono inteligente y una gran curiosidad por el mundo natural. Lxs participantes toman fotograf\u00edas de plantas y vida silvestre y las suben a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inaturalist.org\/projects\/border-bioblitz-2025-bioblitz-de-la-frontera-2025\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Naturalista<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, una plataforma dise\u00f1ada para la ciencia comunitaria.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Este a\u00f1o, 33 nodos y m\u00e1s de 200 personas salieron a documentar casi <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inaturalist.org\/projects\/border-bioblitz-2025-bioblitz-de-la-frontera-2025\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">30,000 observaciones en Naturalista<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Entre ellos, una embarcaci\u00f3n dedicada a la observaci\u00f3n de la biodiversidad marina sali\u00f3 desde la costa de San Diego para registrar todo tipo de observaciones, desde grandes pel\u00e1gicos hasta peque\u00f1os invertebrados marinos.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El nodo marino es un esfuerzo transfronterizo, en el que participantes de ambos lados de la frontera se unen para documentar ecosistemas que a menudo se ven innecesariamente truncados por fronteras pol\u00edticas durante proyectos de investigaci\u00f3n. El nodo marino es excepcional, ya que subirse a una embarcaci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica no es una experiencia com\u00fanmente accesible. Este a\u00f1o, lxs participantes iban desde bi\u00f3logxs marinxs con a\u00f1os de experiencia hasta poetas y dise\u00f1adorxs gr\u00e1ficos, todxs fan\u00e1ticxs de la naturaleza.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cComo una persona fuera de la comunidad acad\u00e9mica y cient\u00edfica, es raro para m\u00ed presenciar la investigaci\u00f3n de primera mano\u201d, comparti\u00f3 Allison Liang, dise\u00f1adora gr\u00e1fica que particip\u00f3 en el nodo marino de este a\u00f1o. \u201cOportunidades como esta son dif\u00edciles de encontrar cuando no eres estudiante ni formas parte del campo. Este viaje me permiti\u00f3 conectar con investigadores, estudiantes y educadores en torno a nuestra pasi\u00f3n compartida por la naturaleza\u201d.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Los proyectos transfronterizos como el BioBlitz de la Frontera son un poderoso recordatorio de que la ciencia debe ser accesible.
