Lampropeltis herrerae, is a snake endemic of the Pacific Island Todos Santos in Ensenada, Baja California. The International Union for Conservation of the Nature (IUCN) catalogs it as a critically endangered species due to a decrease in population by the illegal pet trade. That is why it is necessary to determine the current conservation status of the population and the threats it faces. For this reason, a capture and recapture model will be used to know the size population. A radio transmitter will be placed on the captured snakes and will be tracked to know the habitat use and preferences of the specie. In addition, will be collected information about the extraction of the species with the local users of the island. This project will provide valuable information to local authorities to develop a conservation plan for the specie and update the status of protection in the Mexican norms, currently threatened, If is necessary.
