About

For the last 15 years I have worked in the field of arid grassland ecology in the US/Mexico Borderlands performing vegetation monitoring in the borderlands. A major part of my research focus is studying the white sided jackrabbit (Lepus callotis gaillardi) a species that inhabits the high grassland valleys of the eastern Sierra Madre foothills. Being a grassland specialist, the hare is threatened by shrub invasion and conversion of grasslands to agriculture. The desert tortoise and how it is affected by weather, plant production and drought, is another focus of my research.
