Chapter: Mexico City
Initially trained as an oceanographer, I was drawn into anthropology after working with Seri marine medicine in the year 2000. I am a recent recipient of a PhD from the Department of Anthropology at the University of Georgia. My research focuses on ethnomedicine and knowledge transmission. Currently, I hold a postdoctoral position at UAM-Xochimilco researching the links between ethnobiological knowledge erosion, urbanization, and poverty.
