I am an artist in the School of Art and Senior Sustainability Scholar at the Global Institute of Sustainability at Arizona State University. My work investigates issues of landscape and material culture, as well as questioning or softening traditional boundaries wherever I find them. My current work, Ground Truth—Corona Landmarks, explores locating oneself within vast networks of information by exploring pervasive satellite technology in the context of an historically significant set of satellite calibration targets in the Sonoran. A prior project, Material Histories, looked at the density of contemporary human artifacts accumulating on the earth’s surfaces and the stories they implied. In addition to my personal research agenda, I have developed a cross-listed course at ASU between the School of Art and the School of Sustainability called Art & Ecology.
